Story of Peace Casket

One of the oldest funeral services providers in Singapore, the history of Peace Casket dates back more than 80 years. Established in 1923 and known then as Wee Brothers, it was founded by the late Mr Wee Un Teck, and for a large part of its illustrious history, it was kept within the Wee family and was known to provide quality and personalised services to the bereaved families.

In 2001, Mr Peter Yan & his wife Ms Chow Hsun Cheng took over ownership and management and renamed the company Peace Casket. Catering to a modern Singapore with new mindsets and preferences, our heritage service became a more professional, customer-oriented and progressive care and service provider.

The Management

Mr Yan Pei Tuck Peter – Executive Director: A qualified music conductor trained in England, Peter was the Music Director of the Republic of Singapore Navy Band from 1978 to 1992 before becoming a Funeral Director. During his years with the Navy Band, he led the band to scaling many new heights and achievements. With his knowledge and experience in the field of music, one of Peter’s aspirations is to raise the profile and standard of funeral music in Singapore.

With a heart of compassion to serving the Bereaved and a deep passion to enhancing the standard of the death-care services, Peter joined a funeral establishment as one of their partners where he rose to become their Managing Director. A founding member of the Association of Funeral Directors Singapore (AFDS), a regulatory body for the funeral industry in Singapore, Peter was instrumental in its formation and had served as its Vice-President from 2001 to 2005.

With his many years of operational and management experience in the funeral industry, Peter have served many families at their worst possible time with dignity and cared for them in a loving, compassionate and respectful manner.

Mdm Chow Hsun Cheng – Admin & Accounts Director:  A certified and practising pharmacist, Hsun Cheng plays a strong and supportive role to Peter in managing the company and its caring staff. A keen singer with a strong and beautiful voice, she sometimes teams up with Peter in providing music support to the family.

Having the passion and ability to empathise with families and a keen eye for details, she provides the feminine touch in nurturing a caring and compassionate staff team to serving you in one of the most paining and defining moments of your life.

Peter and Hsun Cheng believe in constant and consistent upgrading of the facilities and options offered to our clients, training and empowering of the staff team to take on more roles that will further enhance and ameliorate their services to the Bereaved.  To them, excellence is the cumulating of seemingly inconsequential, minor and weightless details, yet when gathered together lovingly and particularly alongside inputs and efforts from the staff team, service excellence can be achieved even in the saddest of circumstances”

Our Mission

To go the extra mile in serving the Bereaved by providing a service that is professional, compassionate, dignified and value-added and to care for their Departed loved-ones in a respectful and loving manner.
